I think the pill ligatio babe was referring to is RU486, or "the morning after pill", sometimes called "the abortion pill".
It basically prevents a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterine lining, and it can stop a pregnancy up to like 5 weeks after conception. It's basically a pill-form of abortion, as conception has already taken place.

I'm not sure how far into a pregnancy you can use the abortion pill, but it doesn't prevent implantation... ugh. That could be so disasterous for some poor slob...
