So, I liked the tattoo thread, let's have a piercing thread!
What do you think of piercings? Compared with other body mods? What do you have and what do you plan on having pierced?

my friend just got his ear pierced! Up on the cartilage; I really don't know what it's called though.
and right now I'm too tired to comment on piercings otherwise haha. I just did something I definitely should NOT have done and it was amazingly fun. Night.

Piercings are usually awesome. I think I perfer them over other body mods, like tattoos, but that might be beacause I've never gotten a tatoo or anything else.
I currently have my lip, ears, and nipples pierced.

I really like piercings as well, especially when they have signifigant meaning. For example, a guy on Pride commitee got a nasallanf piercing after he stopped doing cocain. I thought that was a really awesome way to symbolize the end of his addiction.
I have 13 in my ears. I used to have more, and my rook, but I let them grow over. I don't usually wear all 13. In fact, it's rare to see. I've gauged my ears to a size 0 on the bottom holes, and I have my eyebrow pierced, though it should be completely rejected by the end of the school year. That makes me sad. I am also getting the nasallang piercing in a few days.

alright then; this is me not working on my 8943543 assignments that are due tomorrow.
I don't have issues with piercing, naturally, but I still view them as basically purely adornment, even though I recognize that they might have deeper meaning to the wearer. But it just seems like such a primitive way to express yourself, and not all that different from choosing a style of clothing to wear. I don't think the meaning of a person can be expressed visually. Tattoos are probably closer to being able to achieve that, but I really see tattoos as very distracting from the natural wonder that is the human form. Piercings enhance it (or they can), but tattoos generally break it up and distract from it.
I have my ears pierced and my navel. Purely asthetic; I'm not gonna try to make them seem more important than they are. the navel probably has the most meaning, but not in any profound way, it just has a somewhat amusing story behind it.
I've thought about getting my hood pierced, but so far I haven't. Who knows.
And what happened last night.... not gonna post it in a public area. Which makes it seem much more than it actually was, lol, so if you're really curious, PM me and prepare to be disappointed.

I see piercings as adorment most of the time as well. I see tattoos as having deeper meaning more often than piercings. My piercings are there just because I think they're pretty.

A bump and an reply/update.
I had my nasallang piercing a few hours ago. I can't tell if I'm shaking because I was so nervous or because I was just caught out in a storm and I'm fiddlesticksing drenched and freezing. However, I'm totally thrilled with the piercing.

I have no piercings. I want to get my ears fixed, and then guage them to a size...crap I can't remember. I think it's the one before 4. I can't remember anything I've learned on here. I'm pathetic.
I also find neck piercings interesting.

I love piercings. I love tattoos though too. So far I only have two piercings in each ear lobe, and my right cartilage. I WANT to get this done ((I made it in photoshop with my ears <3))... ...Right ear...  ...Left ear....  And I want my lip either pierced on the side with the normal hoopy thingy, or a vertical labret on the side. I might also get another facial piercing, but I'm not sure what. Whatcha think? <3 |

I finally got my ears fixed! I'm so friggin' happy. I can guage as soon as they stabilize, and I can go to the mall to get some guaged earrings. Yay!
