Supposably I might be bipolar.

My psychiatrist is trying to determine whether I'm unipolar ((normal depression)) or bipolar. I'm on Lamictal and Lexapro. Lamictal is a mood stabilizer that, she said, is supposed to help her figure it out. I dunno. I can see some signs of bipolar, but not all of them, nor alot.

yea, I know, like I can see the mood swings and depression and some things, but I haven't really been that impulsive. Except when I cut. And shoplift. Buuut I don't think I am. I dunno.

Impulsiveness doesn't necessarily mean you're bipolar, even. And it's a lot more than mood swings...it's more like a series of extreme highs and lows, that last extended periods of time...nothing like the normal highs and lows of every day life, or even normal highs and lows of someone living with clinical depression...

agreed with laila. Generally what they put on websites that explain the diagnosis criteria is extremely VAGUE and can apply to normal behavior that we percieve as being strange, to like anti-social disorder, so keeping that in mind, don't trust online diagnositic criteria, or even that DSM or whatever book. A lot of it is too vague.

I was under analysis for bipolar, but I couldn't stand it. It all just made me feel like crap. I'm not too concerned about it though.

Yea. I don't really care. I'd rather NOT be labeled bipolar. But my mom wants it and I can't fight. So blah.
