How do you feel about the Anglican church having an openly homosexual priest?
Also, about the women pastor thing you were talking about (shush, I'm not late on this one) my church has mostly female priests. In fact there's only one male, who's moving back to Hawaii very soon, and then a flock of women. People listen to them fine, and there are no problems at all.

How do you feel about the Anglican church having an openly homosexual priest? I actually haven't heard much about it, but you can probably guess I don't agree with it. It depends on what you call problems. The problem with women having too much power is that the men tend to stand back and do nothing in the church when they are called to be the leaders. The roles are reversed, and it's not healthy. Actually, I was in a couple churches like that, and it was NOT fun, believe me.

I actually haven't heard much about it, but you can probably guess I don't agree with it. Any reasons at all, besides "the bible said so"? Eh, it's why I heart the Anglican church. Tolerance....love for everyone...it's nice. Nope, nothing like that here. The men are perfectly active. *Gasp* Oh nos, not gender reverses! God forbid women should be active in the church. I guess then in the bible it does say women aren't to talk in the church.....

Any reasons at all, besides "the bible said so"? My answer will likely not satisfy you, but it just does not sit well with me. I'm worried about what will happen in the future if things keep going the way they are. I'm glad to hear that, then. Don't get me wrong, women should definitely be active in the church! It's just when the men won't step up and be leaders that things go downhill and women start gaining power and taking over roles that, I believe, are for men. I kind of remember reading that, too. I don't completely understand why, but I imagine it was the culture....

Perhaps think about it from a different point of view. Having an openly gay priest can attract a lot more people to that certain church, gay, straight, whatever, looking for a more openminded environment. Although I church hop, the Anglican is the only church I feel comfortable in. Who knows, someday I may leave the heathenism behind. Hmmm...no more questions at this point. I'll come back when I think of more.

Although I church hop, the Anglican is the only church I feel comfortable in. Who knows, someday I may leave the heathenism behind. But, it's like the Christians are being weak and going against what it says in their Bible. It's like they're watering down the Bible in an effort to attract more people. If I were starting a church, or something like that, I would want people who wanted what the Bible says regardless of if it were "tolerant" or not. I don't want people who go to church only to hear things that make them feel good. Can't wait! Well, I'm going to bed. I should have been off the computer yesterday. lol
