I remembered a debate thing on here about why people don't like Catholics and I'm watching something about Mary on the History Channel, yes I'm a dork, I watched things on the HC. Anyways, they say that the Catholics pray to Mary because she can give mercy to the people who are near death and maybe make her son like them more. That's just what they're saying but I know some people had issues with Catholics praying to Mary.

Im catholic and when I pray I pray to god. And what I do is pray cause well, actually I don't know. I'll have to get back to you on that.

If I remember correctly (I'm catholic, but never really listened in Religion class back in the Catholic School....), praying to Mary (the mother of Jesus), is for comfort, as she is/was a mother.
Someone correct me if I'm way off base here.
