Do you think the descision to take Terri Schiavo off of her feeding tube was right or wrong? I think it was wrong because Terri wasn't completely a vegetable. She could see and move her limbs and laughs and she had a blood pressure and heartbeat. She was still alive and it's wrong to kill her like that. Who knows? God could have decided to do a miracle on her or something.

Time to move on.

I think it was wrong. very wrong. michael wanted her dead so he could get the money from the insurance people. he made a remark to a nurse of Terri's that it was taking to long for the ----- to die and that he was going to be so rich when she did die.

Michael was also offered ten million dollars to keep her alive, he obviously declined. Something tells me he's not in it for the money. I don't think that starvation was the best most humane way to die.

It annoys me when people claim he was killing her for money, because it is confirmed that he was offered 1 million, and there are the reports of this 10 million offer, both of which he declined.

i agree w/ truelovewaits and hoarpumpkin; God could have chose to do a miracle and yet He could still do one; but it IS time to move on; i know it's gonna be talked about for a LONG time b/c things like these are but still. I dont think it was right that they starved her to death; but i also heard that she hadn't wanted life support..it's a very complicated subject matter. If I was in her family's shoes, I REALLY dont know what i would have done..just what i felt was right for her and would make her most comfortable.

i can see why michael wanted her dead. he couldnt get a divorce because hes catholic and even if he wanted to, he would need her signature, which, obviously, isnt possible. michael deserves to get on with his life if he wants too. i can understand that. what i dont understand is that if her parents wanted and were willing to pay the money to keep feeding her, why arent they allowed to?

because they had no legal right to.
Michael was terri's proxy. in the event that it is not specified what a person's wishes would be, the proxy has the legal right to make the choice for them.

Actually, Catholics can get divorced......my step mom did. And I was of the understanding that he could've gotten a divorce, I'm sure they'd make a special exception in their case.

unfortunately, that's right ^. as screwed up as it may sound.. I would say that it is not so much screwed up as it is encouragment to either make a living will, or choose a proxy you absolutely trust to make the right choice.

yeah, i know that, but obviously, michael would want her dead. i can understand that. he wants to move on with his life and get married to the woman that he has 2 kids with. its understandable. but how do we know that michael's making choices in TERRI'S best interests rather than his own?

Of course, when have already decided that he just wants her dead, then you will not see that it could be anything else. If he just wanted to get on with his life, why did he not just take the money he was offered to give guardianship to her parents? We do not know for certain that what he was doing was in her best interests, but it is possible he was doing what he believed was in her best interests.
