There are 2 sides to this: the men who feel they should have a choice when a woman wants an abortion (meaning they want her to have the kid), and the men who feel they should be able to push FOR an abortion when the woman plans to carry the pregnancy to term.
What are your thoughts on this issue? Is there any resolution? Obviously the issue is more important concerning men who want the abortions, because of child support.
And what the heck; discuss the issues around child support too!

The woman is the one going through the long 9 months of pregnancy, morning sickness, doctors appointments, and all that, they should have the better say.

I agree with that fully. But it's hard to find a position on men who want the woman to have an abortion... I mean, they don't have to carry it to term, but they DO have to pay child support for a good 18 years. And sometimes they're really getting the short end of the stick there; women can easily lie about being on the pill and such, and I heard a story of one woman who actually saved their used condoms, and artificially inseminated herself with them.

To me it seems insane that men get so little say in abortions. Of course it's the woman's body, and she has to carry the child, but it's still the father's child as well. I have no idea what could be done in the situation though.

I have no idea what could be done in the situation though. yea, it would be so much easier if women didn't whore themselves out, if men didn't accept every whore they meet, if people could stay together... but I guess it's about taking responsibility. We all want the option to get off easy because we can't control ourselves or make mistakes. It seems like a double standard to force men to pay child support while not forcing women to carry the pregnancy to term, but I think it's justified by the fact of the child. Someone needs to care for it if it's born, and it wouldn't be right to bring it into a world where even the mother doesn't want it. however, in cases where women trick or lie to the man, the man should be let off from child support responsibilities. But even that's difficult, since how easy would it be to just lie and say "she TOLD me she was on the pill!"?

Yeah, if the woman tricked the man or inseminated herself with old condoms, then the father shouldn't have to pay child support. However, birth control not being 100% accurate brings up another point. The man knows (or at least should) that even with the pill he can still get her pregnant. If she actually tricked him though, I don't know, it'd be pretty impossible to prove in most cases.
It seems odd to me that a man is looked down upon if he really wants his partner to get an abortion, but he really gets little say if the partner wants an abortion and he doesn't.

I personally think the woman has more of the choice cause she's the one who would have to go through with it. I think that aboration is wrong but if she is really scard, she shouldn't have to go through with it.
