I've been thinking that I would like to start a line of clothing for the girls who are more modest. I noticed that most clothes in stores even I would never wear. I don't like V-necks, or really short shorts or skirts and other things like that. Would you think this would be a good idea? I just thought it would be cool to have a store for girls concerned with modesty and want to just be theirselves, but it's so hard to find clothes that are appropriate. And if you do think this is a good idea, any ideas for me? I want to start designing some soon. Shorts, skirts, shirts, dresses...anything. I would love to know what you think.
And if this does work out...I'm need a name for it. I was thinking Modesty 101 or Uniquely You, but wasn't sure. Any ideas for a name either?

It's a good idea in some senses. I don't think there's a lot of options for GIRLS who want to dress modestly. Women can find things easily but as far as I can see, girls are stuck with mainstream styles, or specialty puritan-esque stores.
however, today I've noticed there's a trend toward greater modesty. Knee-length and below skirts are in style, bermuda shorts, things like that. But then again, styles could swing back just as quickly.
So overall, I think it wouldn't be a bad thing to persue. I assume you would want an online store... a location would be more convenient, but I don't think you'd have enough clients, and many potential clients wouldn't be able to access you.

I see where you're coming from. But I know that whenever I go shopping in my favorite stores, I can rarely find anything modest to wear. Or the messages on shirts are inappropriate. I'm not saying that modesty isn't in style, but maybe down here in Texas, it's different. I'm mainly talking about something for teenagers. I can't go into a store and plan to find shorts that are around knee length. And I don't think I would do an online store, because I know that I would fail at something like that. I'm bad at advertising online. I'm thinking a small business or something like that.

I know what you're talking about with the idea of a store for juniors. I just wonder if you'd really have enough clients to keep a store in business; you'd have to pick a location very carefully.
another possible idea might be starting a line and selling it to other stores, ya know what I mean? Department stores, smaller boutiques, places like that. That way, you could be more widespread, thereby reaching more interested customers, and it'd be easier for them to find since it'd be more likely to be available in places they already shop. I don't know exactly how you'd go about that, but maybe.

I agree with everything HoarPumpkin said. Longer skirts and bermuda shorts are coming back in style, but they could go out just as quickly. So it wouldn't be a bad idea. But HP's right, it would be hard, and selling to other stores would probably be the easiest. I think that would be the best thing to do...
I respect how you want to make a modest clothes line. I think it's a great idea. Personally, I don't have much of a problem finding half way decent clothes, but then again, I'm me, and we're like 15 hours away, lol.

Well, I don't keep up with the fashions so I would never know what is or isn't in style. But maybe, it hasn't hit down here yet. I have the hardest time finding modest clothes...which I've said before. I shop at Thift Towns a lot and they usually have something.
I was thinking about selling to other stores. Not a lot of stuff, just some more appropriate dresses and shirts probably. And definitely some shorts. I can never find shorts in decent lengths. Just to show people that you can be modest and still look good.
