So, as a general question, what do you do to take care of yourself?
I've recently realized that I'm pretty self destructive, but that I really don't care enough to change that. However, in the past few days some things have sprung up and I'm taking some steps to make myself more healthy.
On Wednesday I went to the Options For Sexual Health (Planned Parenthood) and talked about going on the Pill, which I will be doing next week when I see the doctor. I'm not sexually active right now, so the Pill is more to even out that blasted period, lighten cramps, and hopefully give me a clear complexion. Also, it is only $12 a month through Options.
I used to do Tae Kwon Do regularily, but I've quit. It was a Christian school, and they were just too fundamental for my liking. I'll keep my spirituality and physical activity separate, thank you. Plus the grading was ridiculous. So I was talking to Melanie today, and she's recently joined Curves with her mom. They have a deal right now, where if another member brings you in, you only have to pay $15 a month, instead of $40. My grandma is a regular member, so I'm going to get a membership with her, and Mel and I are going to be Curves buddies.
Lastly, I've decided to quit smoking. I hate being so dependant on it, and I'm starting to not even like smoking much anymore. It'll be tough when I'm on tour with ANKORS next month, but I think I can do it. And I've really cut down on alcohol intake, along with pot.
Anyway, that was my speel. Yours?

eh, I tend to be pretty self-destructive also. During my recent smoking spree I all but quit eating, and wound up losing 12 pounds in two weeks. I have cut down on my alcohol intake quite a bit, though mostly from lack of access, and I've gradually quit using dex without really even meaning to or realizing it.

I'm a lot better than I used to be. I've been trying to eat better, but there's so much tempation and I have a major sweet tooth. but I'm getting there. And I drink a lot more water now. I always take my multivitamin. I'm pretty physically active with frisbee. I've been sort of keeping in shape over break; it's just tough with the snow all over.
And I always keep a nalgene at my bedside for the morning after, ahahahaa

Ugh, snow. We have about 6 inches of slush everywhere, and it's nearly impossible to walk anywhere, let alone excercise.

I do a lot of walking as far as excersize goes. Basically anywhere I want/need to go, I walk. If I don't walk completely there because it's too far away, I usually walk at least a mile (if not more) between getting to the light rail station and getting from the light rail stop to wherever I want to be. Plus I'm a wanderer...I'll just randomly decide that I feel like getting out, and take a walk around wherever at 3 AM...until I feel like going home. Oh, and somewhat unfortunately, I hugely submit to retail therapy, so when I'm upset, I frequently find myself wandering malls and plazas and such.
My eating habits are really fiddlesticksed up, but I'm working on those. Slowly...it's an on/off thing. Some days I do well, some days I don't. But I am trying! And I pretty much only drink water or various fruit juices. I mostly stay away from sodas and such.
I smoke more than I should, but I'm not too bad. I manage to keep away from cigarettes unless I have direct access to them. And I haven't been drunk for months...or really even had more than a sip of alcohol since then.
Oh, and I went to the doctor today to try to fix my neck pains, and ended up working up the courage to schedule a much-needed physical. Yay!
Wow, I actually sound somewhat healthy suddenly...I wish I felt healthy.

Keep working at it, and you'll feel healthy. And congrats on getting the physical. I'm terrified to do that.
Also, my quitting smoking thing isn't going well, so far. Dave gave me this fething huge skogie last night. I can barely smoke that thing! But once I'm out of nicotine, I think I'll do fine.

I really need to take better care of myself. We took our Fitnessgram last week, and I only got 15 pacers, 0 pushups, and to top it all off, I gained around 2 or 3 pounds and only one inch over the past year. I went from 5'2.5" and 161 to 5'3" and 164.5 (I had just eaten lunch so that would change my actual weight). I'm hoping being back in gym will help me. I'm also planning to start bringing my lunch to school maybe, and I can go to our apartment complex's workout room. After my meat week from hell, I'm pretty sure it's going to be virtually meat free as well. you don't even want to know how horrible it was.

I wish I could do nothing, ever. I'm in a new Provincial graduation program, and I need 80 hours of "moderate to intense physical activity" over the next year and a half.

That would so rock...and then I'd want to be required to do that. =P

Only problem is, you need a parent or supervisor to sign your form saying you did the physical activity.

you could claim your partner was the "supervisor"
