*looks around* This place looks a wee bit empty. So, does anyone have a dance team at their school? I'm asking cuz I spent two hours today making signs for the tryouts for dance team at my school. We're better than cheerleaders*  jk* in that we dance at half times during both basketball and football and even get cheers from our spectators. And the cheerleaders don't. And, I have nothin against cheerleaders, well some of them, my best friend is one. |

We do, but I dont like most of the people on their. They're just as bad as the cheerleaders.

Ahh, we do um slightly sexual moves in ours, but we're all close friends and such so it's really fun.

we dont have 1, but i do competitive cheer.we dont do football games. we acually do stuff. we are kinda like a dance team, cept we build 2.

We do, but the uniforms suck which bugs me through their routines. I wonder what the high school's team is like. I hope it has better uniforms.

We do. But I consider dance teams and cheerleading squads lame. Oh, we've got really good moves though. We are better liked by the crowd than the cheerleaders mostly cuz we get to spank and shimmy. But I like to pretend that coreography has a bit to do with it too. |

Besides cheerleading, we have show choir. I didn't make it last year...I had strepped throat the week of tryouts and couldn't really sing, lol.

Exactly. >.< I was actually just having a conversation about stereotypes and how true some of them are with someone, and we were both saying how a lot of dancers and cheerleaders are as umbrellaish as stereotypes would say they are. The guy who I was talking to said "Yeah, anyone who's willing to wear an outfit that skin tight and then jump in the air with their legs spead is pretty much proving a stereotype right there." |

Wow, I'm thinking that's a bit offensive to us. Not at my town. The girls on the Dance team are no whores trust me! And the cheerleaders aren't bad either. The problem is that both just get a bad rep from steroypes and they aren't true. We've never humped the air and the only time we've spread our legs in the air were doing Russians. So ya.

to be on our squad, you have to take cheernastics or gymnastics for 2 years. we dont do football games n stuff, we only do compititions. our squad is strictly for our natsics group. the stuff we do is uber hard and we aren't umbrellas either. we cheer/dance for the fun of it..... and the medals.

That's awesome that you guys do that. I was commenting on school dance programs of the Kootenays, which while they are for fun, are make to be as shamelessly seductive as possible.
